I’ve been checking out the skateboarding news but it appears nothing much has come up since my absence.
Here’s one…a skateboarding dog hit the news! Nope…not interesting. Says he likes chewing his skateboards. Boo-hoo…buy him some cheap-a$$ decks so it won’t cost you all your appearance fees you’re making off the mutt!
Hey, now…here’s one…a town just welcomed a skateboarding store in the neighborhood. Guess what? There are more laws in this town preventing skateboarding in public than…skateboards! I’D like to know your opinion on this! How damn ironic…
Ooh…here’s one…it appears a study shows that skateboarding helps fat people lose weight…NO $hit! Now tell me…how many of you folks were absolutely shocked at learning this? Next story…
Oh-Oh…here’s a story about a 14 year old skater who died. Hmm…here’s one about a 17 year old skater who died. What the hell? Here’s one about a VT student who died skateboarding. And this one: 18 year old died after getting hit by a car on his skateboard (no, the car was not riding his skateboard).
Oh…and here’s the killer story (pardon the pun): Boy dead after Dad uses car to tow skateboard.
Ya know what’s interesting about these stories? These kids all died after May 21, 2009…
It’s been barely 3 weeks guys! What the F is going on out there? I take a break from writing due to my rotator cuff injury…and what do I read when coming back? These sick, twisted, AVOIDABLE death stories plaguing my web site.
I did a search on “kill” and “die” on the skateboarding archive page and I found…drum roll, please…27 skateboarding deaths…since our 44skate.com inception of November 15, 2008!
I don’t know what’s going on out there. I constantly talk about wearing head gear…practice safe skateboarding…
I’m done preaching…for today…I am disgusted with so many useless deaths.
In memory of all skateboarders who died while experiencing the best rush ever…
