I’ve been saying for months…we need more skate parks.  It provides a refuge for skateboarders to show off their tricks.  It also provides a save, death-free skateboarding zone.  Banning skateboarders from a town is not the answer, as indicated in this story and in my recent trip to Kansas City.

What gives this story a human-interest twist is the town prefers to ban skateboarding in public places, but allows migrant-illegal workers to gather on Main Street USA looking for work.  These are cheap, day laborors.  Why not give them jobs?  I bet they can build a skate park really cheap!  The town will benefit because: (a) kids won’t skate on Main Street and (b) illegals will have a job and not congregate on Main Street and, most importantly, (c) kids won’t die skating on streets!
